A classic upgrade for your desk, TV or turntable. The Edifier R1280T is a pair of powered bookshelf speakers with a built-in amplifier, 4-inch woofers and silk dome tweeters in solid wood-effect cabinets. Connect them straight to your PC, TV or record player with RCA, and fine-tune the sound with bass and treble dials – no separate amplifier needed.

In short – Edifier R1280T Cyprus: a 2.0 active speaker pair with 42W RMS total, 4″ woofers and 13 mm silk dome tweeters, bass reflex design, 52Hz–20kHz frequency response, two RCA inputs, side-panel volume, bass and treble controls and an infrared remote control.

Edifier R1280T Cyprus: key features

Built-in amplifier – just plug in

These are active (powered) speakers, so the amplifier is already inside. Connect the R1280T to a computer, TV, games console, phone or turntable with a phono preamp, plug it into the mains, and you are ready to listen.

Clear highs and warm bass

Each speaker has a 13 mm silk dome tweeter for smooth, detailed treble and a 4-inch woofer for rich mid-range and bass. A front bass reflex port adds depth, giving a warm and natural sound for music, films and games.

42W RMS of power

With 42W RMS in total (21W per speaker), the R1280T easily fills a bedroom, home office or small living room with far richer sound than TV or laptop speakers.

Bass and treble controls

Dials on the side of the active speaker let you adjust volume, bass and treble to suit your room and your music. Boost the bass for films or lift the treble for clearer voices.

Two RCA inputs and a remote

Two RCA inputs let you connect two sources – for example a PC and a TV – at the same time. The infrared remote control adjusts the volume and mutes the sound from your sofa or desk chair.

Wood-effect cabinets

The wood-effect MDF cabinets and removable cloth grilles give the R1280T a classic hi-fi look that suits both modern and retro interiors.
